Molyvos Tourism Association
The people of Molyvos, like many other Greeks, are reacting to crisis by taking action.
This charming, historic and unique village is inhabited by people who want to see it maintain its reputation as both
a national treasure in the Greek landscape and a place that welcomes visitors of all ages and nationalities.
As well as traditional local industry, the village mainly survives on tourism. The Association has been formed by concerned citizens, local trades people and tourism professionals coming together to protect, improve and promote the region’s environment and culture in a responsible and creative way.
Formed in 2011, it is a non-profit based Association which has already organized volunteer working groups to assess areas of concern and plan improvements, all funded by donation or money-raising events. A recent village cleaning programme – part of the Association’s commitment to ‘green’ issues - successfully involved many local people.
We look forward to welcoming you and treating you to the painstaking care and warm hospitality for which Molyvos and the island of Lesvos is already famous.
